Lip gloss ideas
Before I had children. No, before I got married. Nah, when I was in college. Nope, even ancient times. When I was a late teenager or in my early twenties (Ah, so short lived), I used to have a skin care routine. Not a very sophisticated, going to the salon type but a regular convenient one. Scrubber, cleanser, toner, moisturiser. I think, I continued it for quite some time. As time went by, a spec of dust has positioned itself in my brain and I have lost that sense of self pampering. I no longer have the time. Going out is mostly lip gloss and Kajal. If by chance I put on some lip gloss at home, my children start getting ready to go out! I have to tell them that ‘we aren’t going out, I am trying out a new gloss’. I am very happy that at least I have that routine.
If like me, you too find yourself in the conundrum of time and routine, please read on. I call them lip gloss on ideas.
Lip gloss 1) Skip the steps
As I grew up (not older;-)), I have realised that time is very limited. So I skipped the steps of cleansing and toning. While I was vaccationing (read kids free grocery shopping), I bumped into the beauty aisle and bought myself a scrub cream. It said ‘twice daily’. So for full two days, I used it religiously. I could see the difference. My skin felt so good. You can feel it when you moisturise your skin after a good scrub. But then I got busier. I had time for ‘brushing my teeth’ only. I came up with a strategy to deal with it. I put the scrubber right next to the shower and this has been working for me. Let me know if you have better ideas.
Lip gloss 2) Water
I am amazed by people who can drink gallons of water. This little change in my life, has worked for me. Trust me, it’s coming from someone who would only drink after meals or a run or if it’s unbelievably hot. Now, I drink a big glass of lukewarm water first thing in the morning. It sets me up for the day. You may not like it initially but you get used to it. I used to wake up with a cup of tea. I still wake up after a cup of tea. I drink my glass of water almost unaware of my surroundings. I do flaunt it. My children know it as I keep repeating, ‘What does mum drink first thing in the morning?’
Lip gloss 3) A plan
You must have heard it a million times. People will tell you to stay away from negativity and negative people. But is it possible? Is it practical? Because negative people could be anywhere. You could have negative people right there in your family or extended family or at work. What would you do in that case? Is it possible to stay away from family members who drag you down? No, absolutely not. Then how do you stay away from negative people? By being conscious. Consciously blocking their words although you are there and pretending to listen. In reality, you are in a state of bliss as you would have switched off long time ago. This plan has always worked for me.
Lip gloss 4) Act
Lie down, relax. If you are an active sort of person, who is always on the go, sometimes a little act of being tired and frail work wonders. Rest a little. Say it, ‘I can’t do it’ and make time for the things you really want to do. A bit of lazing around is amazing. Please give it a go. It’s tried and tested and I have learnt it from my seniors. So wisdom attached as well.
Lip gloss 5) Talk
This is the ultimate stress buster and beauty routine. Talk about your happiness, talk about your anxieties, talk about anything and everything that needs to open up the gates of thoughts that make you choke. Talk in person, talk on phone, talk to yourself – you choose the mode. But please talk.
Much love
