10 ways to smile the perfect smile

10 ways to smile the perfect smile

The sun sank in the sky as a beautiful melting sorbet and I smiled the perfect smile as a witness to the beauty around! Tip-toed it came and pinched me gently and it flashed. At first through the corner of my lips and then it couldn’t take it anymore. A full beam of a smile joined in the symphony of the beautiful colours. Golden hour – whoever coined the term, must have had the perfect smile! Hello, I am talking to you, let me find you 10 ways to smile the perfect smile and answer some of the how’s of your life as a by product: How to smile like a model and smile for pictures? how to smile with your eyes and smile more?

1)  Perspective

That unforced and natural smile needs a bit of perspective. We are inundated by work commitments, the pressure of deadlines, school runs, family, homeworks, kids activities. And the leftover is allocated for the weekends. Other than our thoughts, we organise everything else. The desire of living our lives in the weekends is so strong that we forget to bring in the element of perspective. We are so consumed by the strategies of avoiding peak time traffic or getting a seat in the train or bus that we forget to live in the weekdays. We are fixated by the buttons of the elevator, the brisk walks to reach the office space that we even forget to breathe. To add to the chaos, we have insta world, insta stories, facebook, twitter and more. It’s a world of instant gratification where  comparison plugin is a default connection.

‘A picture used to tell a thousand words’ but not in the world of social media because you don’t always see what you think you are looking at. You could see a peaceful quote with a backdrop of white feathers and doves, but it could be shot just to meet a deadline. In this time of instant connections, connect with someone to talk to and share. If you think that everything is getting in to you – mean people, mean deadlines, mean traffic then once in a while see the night sky or see photographs of the night sky. The realisation that you are just a spec of a particle in the universe is divine. Perspective brings the perfect smile and you smile more.

2) Attention

When the rain drop kisses the ground in a hot summer day

The moments when you walk outside for some fresh air and you listen to the the birds chirping away

The sound of the crackling autumn leaves

When you hold hands with your loved one

The time when your baby sleeps in your arms

Or you see a toothless smile

Pay attention and you will see you are already smiling the perfect smile. Whether you are a supermodel or a carpenter, pay attention to small things, they bring the biggest smiles.

3) Creativity

Coming up with a meaningful piece of writing by challenging yourself to use any object that you can think of using (picture frames, diary, books, pen, remote, phone, laptop). An example of an object could be the Remote control – ‘the Remote channeled my thoughts and gave a direction‘. You can reach such heights with those tools of writing. Doing something that brings you joy, making time for what you’ve longed to achieve. Journalling your gratitudes and thoughts. Creating something out of nothing will make you smile – the genuine smile that reaches your eyes.

4) Be with people you love

I heard these beautiful quotes from the Minimalists, ‘You can’t change the people around you but you can change the people around you’ and ‘love people and use things’. Be with the people you genuinely care about and there will be an effortless supply of smiles. When you smile for pictures for the people you know, there are no inhibitions, the love in your eye for the person taking the picture will make that photograph out of the world. That’s the reason your selfies come out so natural. Because it’s you and you are genuine.

fyi: I love listening to their podcasts. You may take a look https://www.theminimalists.com

I have jotted down the remaining 6 reasons as one liners as they need your input.

5) Down time

Books, television, cinema whatever you like. Allow yourself to be silly. Enough said!

6) Visit a dentist

This the real thing. Keep it clean.

7) Tickle someone

You can’t resist but smile.

8) Observe and sense the humour

Observational humour is amazing.

9) Think of old times

That made you smile.

10) Make someone feel better

This works all the time😊

Go on and spread the smile. If you liked what you’ve just read, please leave a comment on how to smile the perfect smile.

Much love
