Ever thought of the unplug button?

Ever thought of the unplug button?

Whenever there is a problem with the wifi connection or there is an issue with the computer, the rule of thumb in our family is to unplug, restart or the age old switch on and off. Even my six year old knows it and the beauty of it is that it works every time. Don’t you do the same? Today in the soulful Sunday series, we are going to unplug ourselves. No matter how big your ‘to do’ list is, we will take some time for ourselves where we don’t do anything. I’ve heard it somewhere that you don’t have to solve all your problems as some problems sort themselves out with time. You are totally allowed (free) to do some serious unplugging!

The Rule :  Stop scrolling on

This is a new age problem – Today for some time while you unwind, can you please stop scrolling your phone for new updates. Trust me they will not stop coming. All the holiday pictures, baby photographs and the adventure ones of random people will still be there.  So you will not miss anything. Deep breaths 😉

Today we will unplug with a hot beverage ☕️.

Treat yourself to a hot beverage:

Nothing extravagant, just a cup of tea for me, you can treat yourself to any hot beverage. Because it’s hot, you will have to sip it slowly. The whole process will be act like a film set for a calming scene inside you. Remember you are not doing anything other than drinking your tea/coffee. So don’t go back to watering the plants or wiping your dining table with tea in one hand☺️.  Set the scene for something relaxing, throw in some mint leaves or a slice of lemon. May be you can try some Indian ginger tea with some cardamoms and cinnamon. You can add an array of spices to your tea. The entire process is very soothing.

Wasn’t it easy? With that cup of tea, you could regain your rhythm and start noticing the motion of your breath again. It is important to keep a check on that:-). The unplug button is within your access. You just have to get up and switch it on. Unfortunately calling for ‘Alexa’ won’t help here. You are your own ‘Alexa’. So ever thought of that unplug button? You are free to choose your own means but please do give it a go. Unplugging can fix just about anything, you too ☺️❤️

Much love
