One direction or two…

One direction or two…

You’re insecure,
Don’t know what for,
You’re turning heads when you walk through the door,
Don’t need make-up,
To cover up,
Being the way that you are is enough

One direction fan? Nah, not me. But we do listen to them and sing along in our drives.  Keep reading please, this post will drive you to a happy place. Songs, objects, names, places, pronunciation, at some point, we all have done it. We might deny it  in public but in our heads, ‘it’s a big yes.’

Remember the time when you really liked a song but due to complicated lyrics or it’s sound, you had to replace the lyrics with lots of ‘la la la and te te te’. Or used a completely different word which had possibly distorted the meaning.

Now, be honest. You have done it as well, right? Try to search for those misconstrued lyrics that you have been singing for ages and suddenly realised ‘o actually it’s sung like that’.

There is a reason for my sudden thoughts on the misinterpreted lyrics of songs. I will tell you why. My daughter was singing the very upbeat Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson feat song, ‘Uptown Funk’ as ‘Uptown funchy wa, Uptown funchy wa’ and my 8  year old was correcting her. (My 8 year old doesn’t know that we haven’t yet corrected his mistakes). I think it sounds much cuter and he has grown out of the song anyways. Out of many songs, presenting two:-)

Songs that were misconstrued by my kids

One direction: That’s what makes you beautiful

The line, ‘The way that you flip your hair gets me overwhelmed’ is for some unknown reason sung as

‘Tooth in your head.’

Tooth in your head? I mean how?

I am so bad, I haven’t corrected him and I love it! While writing the post, my son was siting right next to me and I was giggling with the thoughts, ‘oh my! He has absolutely no idea what am I up to?’

Leona Lewis: Bleeding Love

Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love
I keep bleeding
I keep, keep bleeding love
Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love

Daughter sings it as ‘Keep breathing’! Much better:-)

Now,  do let me know your top misconstrued songs:-)

PS: My kids, I love you guys very much and please don’t get angry when you grow up and read my blog. It has some of your glorious moments as well!

Much love
